Do I need an account?
No. You can keep a private journal on this device without signing in. You can also share a place as a guest. Sign in if you want to back up your journal and use it on other devices.
Why does Soli ask for my location?
Location helps Soli find places nearby, share a new place, or confirm that you visited one. It’s completely optional when you’re making a private field note.
Where is my private journal kept?
Without an account, your journal stays on this device. That keeps it offline, but clearing your browser data or losing the device may also erase it. Sign in if you’d like a private backup.
Is anything shared automatically?
No. Field notes begin in private. A place becomes public only when you deliberately choose to share it.
Can I use Soli offline?
You can write and revisit private field notes without a connection. Exploring nearby, sharing places, and syncing between devices require internet access.
What should I share?
A place someone nearby might be glad to find: something useful, beautiful, odd, quiet, historic, or easy to miss. If it feels personal, keep it in your journal.
